Taking a Stand Against The Unknown

Taking a Stand Against The Unknown

The man was anonymous, the place was unknown, a notification popped up and there were words on the comment section which was ‘outright cruel’. The creator of the work was an individual with a dream, an individual with visions, an individual with abilities to create wonders. That one comment in the box left her mouth dry and her visions shattered. It was the first and the last time she created something with zeal and she struggled to come out of that one comment in her box, it was harsh, it was words filled with pure hate.

In this era of smartphones and high-speed internet, ‘Cyber Bullying’ has been one of the biggest antagonists to the otherwise well-received technology. Though the world has reached to unknown territories through these scientific advancements, it has also reached that small minority of the population, who use it as a guilty pleasure by making outrageous comments on works created by an individual.

With easy access to all kinds of gadgets and technology, it has been easy for people to spread hate and distress among individuals in the society through one of the Modern Marvel’s which is ‘Social Media’. Cyber Bullying doesn’t just limit to hate and cruel comments, there are also aspects like sexting, black-mailing which hurts the peace of an individual both physically and mentally.

The main reason behind us, writing this post, is to convey the message of support towards the victims of Cyber Bullying. The aspect which people forget during these harsh encounters is that we tend to take the negatives too seriously instead, let us all take it as a challenge to prove to those commentators wrong and stand-up to show that their words are just worthless and those cruel words just make us stronger.

The Comments section in most of the social media platforms tend to have at least one negative comment and that comment will be given by some random person who doesn’t know anything about the post as he/she will have not watched the video or seen the post. So why stress out and bow to these people who just try to put us down.

As social media has taken India by storm, such comments are seen in most of the posts or videos. Comment sections tend to have at least one random Indian guy who puts out the most vulgar and irrelevant comment and turns out to become a laughing stock and these comments turn out to become a song of its own.

On a serious note, we should take a stand against Cyber Bullying and Bullying of all kinds, as it a threat to both the society and individuals living in it. It is also important to read the positive comments instead of the bad ones, as it will help us in increasing our self-love and self-respect. It is also important to point out that those words of hate don’t define who we are and it is our duty to work towards the passion that we have towards creating something new and letting the world know about the potential and talent that we possess.

My recommendation for this week is a movie named “Dead Poets Society” directed by Peter Weir, starring Robin Williams, Ethan Hawke. This movie has the ability to hit the right string and gives a very emotional and enjoyable experience throughout.

Have an amazing watch!!!
